I took the leap!

I've been mulling it over for the past several months as whether I should open an Etsy shop. I really wanted to start my own business after deciding to leave my job and stay home with my son when he was born.

It's been a dream for me....an expensive dream. But through the magic of Etsy and encouragement of family and friends, I'm making it happen and my shop is now open. I'd love to hear what you think. I'm constantly getting ideas for new cards, so I'll be adding new cards each week.

I'm not going to lie...I've got some majorly large butterflies swirling around in my stomach. I'm excited about new possibilities, but so afraid of failure.

fabric, paints....and Lincoln logs

It's been a crafty day in the Wooten home.

We're getting a small case of spring fever. Don't get me wrong, I love snow, but sometimes you just feel trapped in your house when you have a toddler. So to ease our fever....we broke out our paints and my sewing machine. The one little thing I didn't account for is....Josiah is his mother's son. I mean this in a good way most days. Sometimes I don't feel like he can fully enjoy painting or anything messy for that matter because he always wants his hands clean.

Painting lasted all of 30 minutes, and he was off with clean hands, to play with his Lincoln logs. I moved on to sewing and he followed, watching my machine with great intensity. After all, what I was making was for him and he just absolutely couldn't wait to put it on. And he did.....and he looked darn cute if I say so myself.

I made him a few of these....aren't they cute? If you love em' head on over to Saltwater Kids for their super easy tutorial.
